Thai Sumilox Suspends Electromagnetic Steel Sheet Processing Due to Flood

Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd announced that its consolidated subsidiary, Thai Sumilox Company, Ltd. was forced to suspend operations last week due to the flood in Thailand.
 
Located in Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya Province, Kingdom of Thailand, Thai Sumilox processes and sells electromagnetic steel sheets used for electric motors. Its operation is currently being suspended because the governor of Ayutthaya issued the evacuation instruction due to the flood.
 
No injury or casualty was reported at Thai Sumilox, and the company has been investigating the damage from the flood, and how and when the damages can be recovered.
 
The company also noted it is watching the situation closely and estimating the flood’s impact on results is unlikely to be material. The company said it will announce any important findings to its results.
 
Sumitomo Metals’ three other subsidiaries in Thailand were not affected by the flood.
