Thai Strip Mill Signs for New Downcoiler Reel
06/29/2020 - Sahaviriya Steel Industries has contracted Danieli Service to replace a downcoiler reel in service at the Thai steelmaker’s hot-strip mill located in Bang Saphan.
In a statement, Danieli said the goal is to reduce maintenance cycles and provide for greater service life.
“A completely new kinematic of the machine was developed, and now the new reel is being manufactured at Danieli workshops in Italy. The gearbox also will be refurbished at Danieli Thailand workshops in January 2021, whilst the plant will continue normal operation,” Danieli said.
