Thai Steelmaker Restarts Upgraded EAF
07/17/2020 - Thailand’s Siam Construction Steel (SCSC) has restarted its electric arc furnace following a 10-month project to upgrade the unit, according to project contractor SMS group.
According to SMS group, the project included installation of a new slag door (enhanced automatic slag door) and an advanced electrode regulator.
“The aim of the upgrade was to improve the furnace seal and thus to increase productivity,” SMS group said. “Thanks to the good cooperation between SCSC and SMS group, the final acceptance was granted (ahead of schedule).”
