Ternium Orders Push Pickling Line for Mexican Mill  

The 550,000-metric-ton line is bound for Ternium’s plant in Pesquería near Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, ANDRITZ said. Scheduled for a mid-2024 start-up, the line will mainly process steels for the automotive markets and the home appliance sector. 

The scope of supply includes the complete mechanical strip transport equipment with high-precision leveler and complete level 1 and level 2 automation packages. The company said the line features turbulence hydrochloric acid pickling and compact rinsing and drying sections specially designed for push pickling lines.

“The customer's decision to award the order to ANDRITZ was based on ANDRITZ’s successful reference plants in the USA, which are currently considered the benchmark in the field of advanced high-strength steel pickling,” ANDRITZ said.
