Tenova Wins thyssenkrupp HDG Line Improvement Project

In a statement, Tenova said the new burners on the No. 7 line will further reduce NOx emissions and help the line meet increased target strip temperature. Located at thyssenkrupp’s Bochum site, the 29-year-old line has a capacity of 540,000 metric tons and is one of the steelmaker’s primary production lines for auto body parts and advanced high-strength steels.

“The modernization step that is now pending is important in order to meet our customers’ upcoming requirements for hot-dip galvanized materials. We are also relying on Tenova LOI's experience and expertise in the field of burner technology for this project,” said Dr. Carsten Groß, team leader of FBA7 at thyssenkrupp Steel.
