Tenova Wins Order for New EAF for Tosyali Algeria
05/03/2022 - The company announced yesterday it has been awarded a contract to supply a second new electric arc furnace (EAF) at Tosyali Bethioua in Algeria.
The furnace will be almost identical to the facility’s current EAF, which Tenova supplied in 2016.
The new equipment, powered by a 240-MVA AC transformer, will process 2.5 million tons per year of direct reduced iron (DRI) pellets to produce hot-rolled coil. It will be equipped with a charging system that allows charging and melting of more than 12 tons of hot DRI per minute.
