Tenova Wins First-in-Market Order for Offgas Analysis System
11/30/2017 - Japan’s Tokyo Steel Co. Ltd. has ordered an offgas analysis system from Tenova, the equipment supplier said on Thursday.
According to Tenova, the order for the NextGen system will help enhance production at the steelmaker’s Tahara Works in Tahara-shi. The system will be installed on the mill’s 420-ton electric arc furnace.
The system includes sampling stations, a multi-point analyzer and optical velocity measurement. Tenova also will supply a scrap tracking system, improved operator displays and computational fluid dynamics modeling.
Tenova said the sale was made possible through a collaboration of Tenova Goodfellow Inc. and Sumitomo Shoji Machinex Corp. Tenova said this is the first time the system has been sold in the Japanese steel market.
