Tenova Starts Up Two Walking Beam Furnaces at Ternium Pesquería
08/04/2021 - Two new walking beam furnaces (WBFs) were successfully started up at the new Ternium hot strip mill facility in Pesquería, Mexico.
According to the supplier, the state-of-the-art WBFs generate 400 tons/hour, reduce emissions and provide energy savings. The new furnaces also include the SmartBurner Monitoring System. The system enables enhanced monitoring and optimizing of the performance, operation and maintenance of the burner, Tenova said.
“This new Tenova equipment joins the previous walking beam furnaces built for Ternium at its plants in San Nicolás, Argentina, and in Monterrey, Mexico, confirming the fruitful collaboration between the two companies of the Techint Group for this type of application,” said Nicola Cavero, senior vice president at Tenova Italimpianti. “This represents an important new reference for Tenova in the reheating furnaces market.”
