Tenova Pyromet to Supply Equipment for Henan Sunshine Furnaces
07/03/2008 - Tenova Pyromet will design and supply equipment for two 39-MVA furnaces that Chinese Henan Sunshine Silicon Technology Development will build in the Henan Province in China.
Tenova Pyromet has been awarded a contract by the Chinese Henan Sunshine Silicon Technology Development for the design and supply of equipment for two 39 -MVA furnaces to be built in the Henan Province in China.
The contract includes the supply of equipment from TIMEC (Tianjin International Modern Equipment Company Ltd), Tenova’s production facility in China. Using Tenova Pyromet's design, TIMEC will manufacture the structural and technical sections of the furnace rotary drive system, with the client providing the shell of the system, as well as the furnace smokehood complete with sideksirts and doors with hydraulic cylinders. The smokehood hangers are coming from South Africa.
Although Tenova Pyromet will design and supply the furnace controller, the balance of the plant will be designed and supplied by Chinese Henan Sunshine Silicon Technology Development. For production of the controller, the company will send all required signals to Pyromet via Ethernet communications.
Most of the electrical equipment and some mechanical equipment were procured from Chinese suppliers, which will help to provide easier maintenance.
With the design stage complete, the project is steaming ahead with shipping and fabrication. Equipment delivery began in June, with a view to completing that phase in September 2008.
