Tenova Goodfellow Marks 10 Years of EFSOP Technology in Japan
12/21/2015 - Tenova Goodfellow Inc. recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the introduction of its Expert Furnace System Optimization Process (EFSOP) technology to the Japanese steel market.
In 2005, EAF-based long products maker Topy Industries Ltd. installed the offgas sampling and combustion optimization program at its Toyohashi Works in Aichi, Japan.
The project has been a success, Tenova said, allowing the facility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 18 percent and save CAD1.5 million in annual costs.
“We are thankful to Topy for being the first to introduce EFSOP technology in Japan and for their partnership to achieve and maintain outstanding results,” said Tenova Goodfellow CEO Marcello Pozzi in a statement.
Headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., Canada, Tenova Goodfellow Inc. is the “Center of Excellence” for process control technology development within the Tenova group of companies.
Based on the operating results of its first EFSOP system, Topy purchased two more in 2013, Tenova said.
