Tenova Contracted For TimkenSteel Furnace Control Improvements
12/21/2017 - Tenova has won an order to upgrade the electric arc furnace at TimkenSteel Corp.’s Faircrest plant, the company has announced.
In a statement, Tenova said that it will outfit the furnace, located in Canton, Ohio, USA, with its NextGen off-gas analysis system, iEAF dynamic process control technology, and Water Detection Technology.
"When fully implemented, the combined technologies will bring a number of operational, safety and environmental benefits including reduced energy consumption, water leak detection, increased productivity and yield and reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions," the company said.
The technology packages combines hardware, process control models, web-based automation and water detection available technology.
TimkenSteel produces carbon and alloyed seamless mechanical tubing and large-diameter SBQ bars.
