Tenova Awarded Contract for Intelligent Waste Heat Recovery Systems

In a statement, Tenova said the systems will be added to the steelmaker’s new Consteel Evolution EAFs at its plant in the Hebei province. The systems will be fit downstream of the EAFs to recover waste heat for use in steam production. The steam will be fed to the facility’s power plant.

The order comes amid a government push for higher quality processes and technologies to increase productivity and improve environmental sustainability.

“We are proud to supply our technologies to Tangshan and to be part of its transition to greener process in steelmaking,” said Tenova Metals chief executive Roberto Pancaldi. “During our meetings, we discussed about future co-operation for sustainable solutions and we are ready to continue to be a reliable partner for Tangshan in the path of circular economy.”
