Tenova Acquires U.S.-Based Material Handling Systems Business
01/17/2017 - Tenova TAKRAF has acquired the assets of FMC Technologies’ materials handling systems unit for an undisclosed amount, the company has announced.
“This acquisition brings with it a number of advantages that we seek to leverage. We identified a need to add to our equipment portfolio and this opportunity enables us to realize our strategic goals -- to strengthen our position in the lighter material handling business and reinforce our growth strategy,” said TAKRAF chief executive Frank Hubrich in a statement.
“(FMC’s material handling systems’) portfolio is complementary to TAKRAF’s and now enables the company to provide a range of equipment catering also to smaller volumes and integrated in-plant conveyor solutions.”
Based in Lansdale, Pa., the business serves a variety of industries, including mining, minerals, power and food. It engineers, procures and builds complete material handling systems for customers. It also offers a line of proprietary equipment for rotary drying and cooling of various materials.
The business is being integrated into TAKRAF’s U.S. operation in Denver, Colo., but will retain its office in Lansdale.
