Tenaris to Invest in Wind Farm, Reduce Carbon Footprint
02/21/2022 - Tenaris is investing US$190 million for a wind farm located in Adolfo Gonzales Chave, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as part of its plans to reduce CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030.
According to a company press release, the wind farm would reduce CO2 emissions by 152,000 tons/year and supply 50% of Tenaris’ electricity requirements.
“This is a milestone for Tenaris. Building a wind farm that will provide nearly half of the electric consumption of Siderca is a firm and clear step toward reducing emissions,” said Carolina Bengochea, Tenaris environment senior director.
The wind farm is expected to be operational by the second half of 2023.
