Tenaris Opens Bay City Seamless Mill
12/13/2017 - Tenaris cut the ribbon on its new US$1.8 billion seamless tube mill in Bay City, Texas, on Monday, ceremonially opening a mill that has been in the works for nearly five years.
“Tenaris Bay City shows our commitment to domestic manufacturing, competitively supplying the U.S. oil and gas industry,” said Tenaris chairman and chief executive Paolo Rocca.
“This mill, which incorporates the most advanced technologies available worldwide, will lead our domestic industrial and service network dedicated to the U.S. market.”
The mill became fully operational in November. Occupying 1.2 million square feet, the highly automated mill is designed to produce 600,000 tons of oil country tubular goods annually. It will deliver tubulars either directly to rigs or to Tenaris service centers in Texas or Oklahoma.
