Tenaris Mill in Indonesia Receives Safety Awards
07/10/2013 - Tenaris’s mill in Indonesia, SPIJ, recently received the Zero Accident Award from the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration.
The award honored the mill’s achievement in implementing safety and health programs to reach 5,805,535 working hours without lost time injury, from 20 December 2009 to 31 October 2012.
“It is our honor to be recognized with this award,” said Dedi Kuncoro, health, safety and environment coordinator Indonesia. “With judging criteria that are very strict and constant observation of the mill’s activities, surpassing the 5 million hour mark without lost time injury is not easy and we managed to achieve it with our employees’ discipline and commitment. The award proves that Tenaris strongly values the safety and health of its people, contractors, customers and business partners.”
This is the second award the mill received this year. In March, the mill received ‘Cilegon Zero Accident Award’, a recognition initiated by the Cilegon Mayor, Tubagus Iman Ariyadi, in collaboration with the Cilegon Department of Labor. The award was given to companies that are dedicated to implementing health safety and environmental programs.
