Tenaris Investments in Nigeria Recognized

Tenaris has recently received the Nigerian Content Equipment Certification from the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board. The certification verifies the company’s eligibility to participate in tenders relating to supply and service contracts for OCTG products.
In 2012 the company completed the Onne plant expansion project, which was launched in 2009, representing an investment of over US$30 million. “The expansion the plant of Onne has doubled our production capacity — which is reaching over 50,000 tons/year — and will allow us to better meet the needs of our customers in the region,” says Gonzalo Troncoso, Tenaris country manager for Nigeria.
Tenaris has also recently launched a $10 million investment plan in the Pipe Coaters Nigeria plant. “The investment will update the technology of our lines, and will increase our productivity and widen the range of products and services that we offer to the West African oil and gas industry,” says Pedro Telmo Perez, commercial manager of PCN.
Through the continued expansion of its local operations, Tenaris is supporting the industrialization of Nigeria in the oil and gas sector.
