In late August Tenaris donated to Norsk Oljemuseum, the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, a new exhibit that represents a casing and tubing string typically used for oil and gas production in the North Sea. The museum is located in Stavanger, the local capital of the oil and gas industry.
The well string features the company’s TenarisHydril premium connection technologies including Blue® connections and Wedge Series 500™ connections along with Dopeless® technology, the dry, industrially applied coating that makes thread compounds obsolete.
The exhibit opened on 29 August with a cocktail attended by representatives from Tenaris, the Museum as well as target customers from the region. In the cocktail’s welcoming speech, Geir Mossige Johannesen, the Museum’s Head of Exhibitions, thanked Tenaris for the donation. "The Tenaris string exhibit greatly enriches our museum with an important piece that will become one of the four or five more representative icons of our exhibition," he said.
