Techint Goodfellow to Provide EFSOP System for CMC Meltshop

July 28, 2006 — Techint Goodfellow Technologies Inc. has received a purchase order from CMC Steel for one Goodfellow EFSOP system for the company’s Alabama melt shop (formerly known as SMI– Alabama).

The new EFSOP system will incorporate continuous off-gas based closed-loop process control of the EAF. It will continuously measure and analyze EAF off-gases (CO, CO2, H2, O2) at the fourth hole for real-time closed-loop process control of EAF steelmaking. Techint Goodfellow Technologies says the new system will result in improved operations, energy savings, lower conversion costs and safety benefits.

This is the third Goodfellow EFSOP system for the CMC Steel Group.
