Tata Steel to Study Liquid Hydrogen Imports
11/14/2024 - Tata Steel is looking to import liquid hydrogen produced in Norway and export carbon dioxide for permanent storage.
In a statement, Tata Steel said it has signed agreements to study the economic viability of a trade corridor through the company that would both bring hydrogen for its Dutch mill and ship out CO2 produced there.
The agreements with gas transportation specialist ECOLOG and other collaborators build on the strong collaboration between the Norwegian and Dutch governments, Tata Steel said.
“The exploration of liquid hydrogen/CO2 corridors will further strengthen the collaboration between the two countries, with the intended establishment of a structural connection between the Port of Amsterdam and Norway, making a clear contribution to the shared goal of CO2 reduction,” the company said.
