Tata Steel to Expand Hot Blast Systems at Three BFs
08/24/2023 - Tata Steel has contracted Danieli Corus to add stoves to the hot blast systems serving three of its furnaces in India.
According to Danieli, the project will bring about a fourth stove for the H and I furnaces at Jamshedpur as well as for the No. 2 furnace in Meramandali. The goal is to improve operational and maintenance flexibility and to increase production rates, Danieli said.
“The new stoves will be equipped with the proven Danieli Corus ‘mushroom’ dome, with the dome refractories being supported independently by the steel shell. The design includes features that allow for refractory expansion, which have proven to be essential in achieving exceptionally long lifetimes with Danieli Corus hot blast stoves. The new burners will guarantee improved mixing efficiency and stability,” Danieli said.
