Tata Steel Reports ‘Best Ever’ Hot Metal Production in August
09/09/2009 - The company produced 597,000 tonnes of hot metal and 552,000 tonnes of crude steel in August, increases of 15% and 16%, respectively, vs. August 2008 production.
Tata Steel reported a significant increase in its hot metal, crude steel, and saleable steel production in August compared to the same month a year ago.
The company produced 597,000 tonnes of hot metal and 552,000 tonnes of crude steel in August, increases of 15% and 16%, respectively, vs. August 2008 production.
Tata Steel also produced 526,000 tonnes of saleable steel, up 14% from August 2008, and recorded sales of 492,000 tonnes, a 25% increase vs. August 2008.
Another August highlight included an 81% increase in long product sales over the same month last year.
In addition, LD#2 (one of the meltshops) recorded its best ever production of 326,100 tonnes vs. its previous best of 318,974 tonnes in August 2008.
