Tata Steel Partners With U.K. University on Solar Building Tech
08/10/2022 - Research partners Tata Steel UK and Swansea University will work together on developing solar roofing panels that can printed onto the steel used in buildings.
Under a three-year research collaboration, the two will explore the technology, which potentially could allow buildings to generate, store and release their own electricity.
“This technology will help us tackle the energy crisis and the climate crisis at the same time,” said Swansea professor Dave Worsley, head of materials science and engineering.
