Tata Steel Lays Plan for Indian EAF Mill
07/05/2023 - Tata Steel is looking to establish a scrap-based long products mill in India as part of a longer-range plan to build domestic capacity in the country, according to reports.
According to The Hindu newspaper, the 750,000-metric-ton mill will be built in the northern cit of Ludhiana and is expected to be up and running in two years.
The Hindu BusinessLine newspaper said the site was chosen for its proximity to scrap-producing industry. BusinessLine also said the plant will support its goal of 36 million to 40 million metric tons of new capacity in India
