Tata Steel Europe Employees Not Sold on Potential thyssenkrupp Joint Venture
06/12/2018 - Tata Steel’s European works council has raised new doubts over the combination of the steelmaker’s European strip business with thyssenkrupp’s steel division, making it less likely that a deal will come to fruition by the end of the month, reports the Reuters news service.
"The (works council) acknowledges there is an industrial rationale for pursuing this joint venture, but with the matters outstanding the council remains unconvinced that this partnership with thyssenkrupp would be in the best interests of Tata Steel Europe’s operations and the employees we represent,” the council said, according to Reuters.
