Tata Steel CEO Honored by Indian Institute of Materials Management

The Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) has named Tata Steel Managing Director Mr. HM Nerurkar as CEO of the Year for 2011.
 
Each year, IIMM honors eminent personalities for their positive contribution toward development of the nation. This year, the institute voted to honor Nerurkar for his outstanding contribution toward National Development through effective and efficient Supply Chain Management, as a leader in the private sector. Earlier recipients of the award include Azim Premji, Naveen Jindal, JJ Irani and B Muthuraman, Ashok Sinha, Rajiv Bajaj.
 
Nerurkar was presented with the award by Mr. Shiva Sinha, Chairman of IIMM Jamshedpur branch. The award ceremony, held at the Beldih Club, was attended by CEOs and senior executives of various companies and other eminent personalities of Jamshedpur.
 
“I consider myself to be honored and privileged to receive such a prestigious award,” said Nerurkar while receiving the award. “I would like to appreciate IIMM’s endeavors of keeping a subject like material management quite active and popular in Jamshedpur. However, I must mention that it wouldn’t have been possible for me to make this achievement without the thorough support of my colleagues who have always stood by me under every circumstance. I thank IIMM for considering me worthy of receiving this prestigious award.”
 
Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) has served as a professional institution for professionals of Supply Chain Management in India for the last 40 years. It has a wide network of 45 branches and 19 chapters all over the country. IIMM is dedicated to the academic and professional development of people who wish to undertake higher responsibilities in Supply Chain Management.
