Tata Hires Danieli to Upgrade Galv Line

In a statement, Danieli said the improvements to the No. 2 line will add 460,000 metric tons of capacity geared for the automotive sector. The improvements include the installation of an additional heating zone on the furnace, optimization of the entry and exit sections and new automation.

“The electrical and automation systems will be completely replaced with a new solution developed by Danieli Automation that is based on advanced automation system controllers and integrates existing and new equipment in a uniform automation platform,” Danieli said in a statement.

“A completely rebuilt Gas Jet Cooling section will grant extremely high cooling rates and improved uniformity for strip temperature at the exit of the section, as well as optimized dynamic response of the furnace during transitions between different coils, both in terms of steel grades and of strip sizes.”

In addition to engineering and building the new equipment, Daniel will oversee installation and commissioning.
