Taishan Steel to Start Stainless Rolling Facility Upgrade in September
08/09/2012 - Chinese plantmaker China 19th Metallurgical Corp. announced it has won a tender to carry out the upgrading project of the stainless steel rolling mill of Shandong Province-based steelmaker Shandong Taishan Iron and Steel Group.
Chinese plantmaker China 19th Metallurgical Corp., a subsidiary of state-owned China Metallurgical Group Corp., announced it has won a tender to carry out the upgrading project of the stainless steel rolling mill of Shandong Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shandong Taishan Iron and Steel Group. Work on the project will start in September and will be completed within 9.5 months.
The stainless steel rolling facility, which was built in 2008, has an annual output capacity of 800,000 tonnes.
The upgraded rolling facility will include two walking beam heating furnaces, a roughing mill, a drum-type flying shear, one steckel finishing mill and other finishing mills, a new reinforced laminar cooling system and two coilers.
