Swedish Steelmaker Wins Multimillion Order for Umbilical Pipe
04/11/2017 - Sweden’s Sandvik Materials Technology has bagged a SEK400 million (US$44.2 million) exclusive order for stainless umbilical tubes to be used in the offshore Leviathan natural gas field, the company said on Tuesday.
“I am pleased that our strong position and customer offering have resulted in us being selected as the supplier for this large and challenging project,” said Petra Einarsson, Sandvik Materials Technology president.
Deliveries are to take place this year.
The gas field, which sits off the coast of Israel, was discovered about seven years ago in the Mediterranean Sea and is Israel’s largest-ever energy development project.
Gas is to begin flowing from the field in 2019.
