Sweden's SSAB Contracts for Automation System Upgrade
12/22/2016 - SSAB Europe has awarded a contract to Primetals Technologies for a new automation system at its mill in Raahe, Finland.
Under the contract, Primetals will replace the automation running the hot rolling mill’s cooling section.
“The scope of supply includes the level 2 process automation hardware and software as well as the basic automation software, including the software switch for shadow mode and smooth switchover to the new system, and the commissioning,” Primetals said in a statement.
The project is scheduled for completion in April 2018. The Raahe facility produces heavy plate and strip.
