Superior Tube Appoints Former Navy Pilot as Aerospace Market Manager
08/14/2014 - Superior Tube Company, a global leader in the manufacture of small diameter precision tubing for safety critical applications, announced the recent appointment of Wade Burchell as aerospace market manager.
Given the importance of the aerospace market to Superior Tube — a qualified supplier to Boeing among others — this is a key appointment for the company. With extensive experience of working with engineering and supply chain professionals throughout the industry, Superior Tube has developed precision tubes for a variety of critical applications, including hydraulics, instrumentation, pitot tubes and engine/fuel lines.
Wade joined the company at its Collegeville, Pa., facility in May of this year having previously held director-level sales and marketing positions with a number of aerospace businesses. His 22 years of experience, gained across international markets, covers a wide range of aircraft and aerospace products, ground support equipment and military sub-contract manufacturing. Wade is also a Naval Academy Graduate and retired United States Navy pilot with over 20 years’ service.
Commenting on his new role, Wade said: “I am excited by the challenge of growing Superior Tube's global position in the aerospace market and by the ‘can do’ attitude of the employees and the leadership team. I believe my background and experience will enable me to make a real contribution to Superior’s growth objectives.”
Kevin Heaphy, Superior Tube’s global director of product management and commercial systems, added: “We’re delighted that Wade has joined us. With his background as a Navy pilot and his extensive, senior-level aerospace sales record, he has just the skills we need to help us achieve further growth in the aerospace sector.”
