Sumitomo’s Thai Sumilox Restores Operation in Thailand after Flood

Thai Sumilox Company, Ltd. has restored its pressing line and resumed operation following the October 8, 2011 suspension due to flood damage in Thailand.
 
Thai Sumilox, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd., processes and sells electromagnetic steel sheet. The company operates with 144 employees (as of March 31) and its facilities are located in the Rojana Industrial Park in the Ayutthaya Province in the Kingdom of Thailand. Major shareholders include Sumitomo Metals Industries (52%); Sumitomo Corp. (8.85%); CSC Group (15.00%); and Other Partners (24.15%).
 
Following the restart, Thai Sumilox subsequently plans to restore and resume the facility’s slitting line by the end of March 2012.
 
The company noted its appreciation to its customers, equipment makers, and others for their support through this period.
