Franck Komi Adjogble, PhD.c

Having graduated in Computer Science with Masters in Science Degree, I worked in the Department of Applied Informatics as Assistant to the research director, where I participated actively in the project MODICAS (Efficient Integration of a 3D Digitizing System and a Surgical Robot). Additionally I earned a Certificate of Technology Management at Fraunhofer institute in cooperation with the University of Hagen. I joined SMS-group in 2001 as Manager of the Process Models in the Automation department and soon was leading various teams of commissioning engineers that serve SMS’ global customers. I have always supported technological advancement and development of SMS automation systems for succeeding projects and after working for 15 years in the SMS offices in Düsseldorf and Beijing, I was appointed as the "General Manager- Digital Solutions" at SMS USA office in Pittsburgh for developing a Digitalization Unit within the US office, where I am leading a group of Data Scientists developing the Learning Steel mill in cooperation within the SMS-group. I have completed a doctorate research (ABD) in Technology and Innovation management (Technology forecasting) from Fraunhofer Institute in Germany.


Damian Brennan

Damian Brennan has more than 20 years of experience in the steel industry and is a co-founder of, and vice president at, American Heavy Plates in Clarington, Ohio, USA. He is responsible for supply chain, quality, logistics, information technology and digital initiatives. American Heavy Plates is the country’s newest steel mill, focused exclusively on heavy steel plate production and processing. He received his M.B.A. and M.S. degree in information system from Boston University and his B.A. degree in philosophy from The State University of New York at Albany.


Bernard Chukwulebe

Bernard Chukwulebe has been manager of Processing and Control group at ArcelorMittal Global R&D East Chicago Center since 2018. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in metallurgical engineering from the Moscow University of Science and Technology, Russia. He joined ArcelorMittal’s predecessor company in 1999 as a research engineer after four years of lectureship at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Lagos, Nigeria. At ArcelorMittal, he advanced progressively through a series of increasing technical responsibilities to become the group manager of Steelmaking, a position he occupied for 11 years covering liquid steel, continuous casting and refractories research. In his current role, Chukwulebe and his teams are tasked with ensuring ArcelorMittal’s global leadership in new product manufacturability, cost, throughput and product quality through innovative research in steel manufacturing technologies for downstream and finishing lines. A steel manufacturing expert with a distinguished track record of developing and leading highly professional teams and advanced research programs, Chukwulebe along with his teams collaborate with internal and external laboratories, universities and research organizations to develop and implement innovative and breakthrough process solutions for modern steel manufacturing with emphasis on data-driven smart manufacturing. He served for more than four years on the Industrial Advisory Board of the Kent D. Peaslee Steel Manufacturing Research Center at the Missouri University of Science and Technology and has been an active member of AIST since 1998. He has authored or co-authored numerous technical papers as well as a patent, and has chaired sessions at international conferences.


Patrick J. Gallagher

Patrick Gallagher is an experienced digital transformation technology executive with a diverse background including software development, executive level consulting, business development and project management. Gallagher’s career began designing, developing, and installing process control and other information management systems for manufacturing companies in North America, Europe and Asia. Gallagher joined Management Science Associates (MSA) in 1992 after the acquisition of his software integration company. He has progressed through a number of positions within MSA, and was president of two MSA subsidiaries. His current title is vice president of MSA’s Metals and Advanced Manufacturing Division. Gallagher holds a B.S. degree in computer science from Western Michigan University. He is a frequent speaker, author, and session chair at numerous professional conferences, symposium and seminars.


Chris Machut

Christopher G. Machut is the founder and chief executive officer of Netarus LLC, a Norfolk, Va., USA-based company that manufactures and sells industrial-grade video monitoring solutions, including HoistCam and HoistCam Director. With more than 20 years of experience developing situational awareness software and hardware platforms, Machut, a graduate of Virginia Tech, is an experienced computer engineer and business developer.


Bradley D. Morgan

Brad Morgan is an experienced metallurgist with strong knowledge of flat-rolled steel products and processes, focusing primarily on the finishing operations (pickling, cold rolling, batch annealing and galvanizing).  With a B.S. degree in metallurgical engineering (Missouri University of Science and Technology), an M.S. degree in operations management (University of Arkansas), and 14 years of professional experience in the steel industry, mostly with Nucor working close with the finishing processes, he has been involved in product development, technical services to customers, process control and improvement, cost reduction, and analytics (both predictive and performance related), and business system design/improvement.
