According to Danieli, the system monitors bearings and gears and warns about potential failures. 
 
“Customer maintenance staff checks the anomalies which are automatically reported by the system. Every three months Aceros Arequipa receives from Danieli a complete report describing the condition of each machine,” Danieli said. 
 
Engineering, installation and commissioning of the system took approximately one year, Danieli said. Commissioning and training activities were carried out remotely.
 
With the installation of the system, the steelmaker has ordered two more, one for a bar mill and the other for a wire rod mill.
