Steel Technologies Names CFO and Treasurer

June 28, 2006 — Steel Technologies Inc. announced that the company has named Roger D. Shannon as its new Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.
Shannon, who will join Steel Technologies on July 24, 2006, was previously employed with Brown-Forman Corp. for the past nine years, most recently as Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Vice President. He began his career with KPMG Peat Marwick. Prior to joining Brown-Forman, he held various financial positions with Vulcan Materials, Lexmark International, and later Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp., where he was Senior Investment Analyst.
Shannon holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Terry Graduate School of Business at the University of Georgia and a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Auburn University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.

Steel Technologies processes flat-rolled steel to specific thickness, width, temper, finish and shape requirements for a wide range of applications. The company now has 23 facilities, including its joint venture operations, located throughout the United States and Mexico.
