Steel Stud Manufacturing Association Announces New Technical Director
07/09/2012 - The Steel Stud Manufacturers Association (SSMA) announced the appointment of Rahim Zadeh, P.E. as its Technical Director.
The Steel Stud Manufacturers Association (SSMA) announced the appointment of Rahim Zadeh, P.E. as its Technical Director. Zadeh brings more than 30 years’ experience within the steel framing industry to his new role with the SSMA.
“Rahim Zadeh’s experience in the design and construction of structures using cold‐formed steel will bring a vast and essential knowledge base to this key technical role,” said Tom Porter, SSMA Board of Directors Vice Chair.
Zadeh began his career as a design engineer immediately following his structural engineering Master’s degree program at the University of Texas at Arlington, designing over 500 commercial, industrial and educational buildings using metal building systems. He later served in the capacities of the Director of Engineering & Technical Department and Vice‐President of Engineering where he operated the engineering departments, developed design and construction procedures, patented several CFS connectors and focused on product development. Zadeh is a current Board member and past‐President of the Cold‐Formed Steel Engineers Institute and actively participates in numerous committees within AISI and ASTM.
The Steel Stud Manufacturers Association is the Chicago‐based national trade association representing leading manufacturers of steel studs, track and joists. Its roll forming member companies support the development and maintenance of quality product standards and specifications for the cold formed steel manufacturing industry. The organization creates market growth opportunities for cold‐formed steel through research, marketing and education.
