“With the partnership, we aim to profit more strongly from the planned investments in renewable energy and infrastructure of the U.S. government,” the company said in a statement. “Our investment is designed to drive the development of sustainable, innovative and complex solutions for the entire supply chain and extend our range of higher-value-added services.”

Set to open late this year, Nucor Steel Brandenburg will be capable of producing 1.2 million tons annually and will allow the company to produce thicker and wider plate. 

Kloeckner expects to start its facility in the third quarter of 2023.
