Steel Market Development Institute Appoints New Board Chairman
08/13/2015 - A Nucor Corp. executive has been named as the Steel Market Development Institute's board chairman, the organization has announced.
Rick Blume, Nucor's vice president of commercial, will succeed ArcelorMittal USA's Dan Mull. Mull is the company's executive vice president of sales and marketing.
"We look forward to working under Rick's leadership to further strengthen our core programs in automotive, construction,
packaging and communications," said SMDI President Lawrence W. Kavanagh in a statement.
"We appreciate the work Dan did to grow our programs during his tenure. Our industry owes him a large debt of gratitude
for the successful strategies we have in place today."
The institute is a business unit of the American Iron and Steel Institute.
