Steel Has an Important Role in Fighting Climate Change, Building Circular Economy, Says World Steel Director
01/30/2019 - Steel has an important role to play in the development of modern society, but if it is to remain a material of choice, then the industry needs to better make that case to the public, said the director general of the World Steel Association.
“To remain a material of choice in the development story of modern society, we in the steel industry have much to do to explain our importance to future success,” Edwin Basson writes on the association’s web site.
Basson said the industry has two immediate challenges, mitigating climate change and solidifying steel’s position in the circular economy.
