Steel Federation Chairman Looks for Japanese Crude Steel Production to Rise
01/31/2019 - Although Japan’s crude steel production fell to a nine-year low in 2018, strong construction demand and other factors should help to increase production this year, the chairman of the Japan Iron and Steel Federation tells the Reuters news service.
“Steelmakers could not produce as much as they had planned due to a series of natural disasters and system trouble last year,” federation chairman Koji Kakigi told the news service.
