Steel Fabricator Fulfills Order for Six Dozen Electricity Transmission Poles
03/08/2017 - Falcon Steel America, a Texas-based fabricator specializing in electrical and highway structures, has delivered 73 galvanized transmission poles to an electric cooperative, the company has announced.
“This project was a particularly big win for us because, historically, we’ve been known as a leading fabricator of steel lattice towers and substations, and as a whole, the market has been less aware of our pole fabrication capabilities. But over the past year, we’ve made major strides in expanding our pole production capacity, and our efforts are clearly paying off,” said Falcon Steel chief executive Jim Taylor in a statement.
The poles replaced wooden H-Frame poles and are designed to last more than 50 years. All of the new poles were delivered ahead of schedule, with no reported field issues arising from the expedited delivery, the company said.
