Steel Fabricator AT&F Expands Through Acquisition
08/13/2015 - Cleveland-based AT&F has acquired a metal fabricator in Wisconsin, opening the door for an expansion into the Midwest, the company has announced.
AT&F, which is celebrating 75 years in business, said the strategic acquisition of Heavy Metal Fabricators, based in Manitowoc, Wis., gives it access to a 60,000 square foot facility with 60-ton cranes and large-scale cutting, welding and machining operations.
Heavy Metal makes large machines and machined weldments for the military, marine, paper, crane, foundry, petroleum and construction equipment industries.
"The capabilities and experience that exist at the facility are a great complement to the operations we have in Ohio and
elsewhere," said Michael Ripich, AT&F president and CEO, in a statement.
"This location will put us closer to several of our key customers and prospects located in the region," he said.
The facility is to operate under the AT&F name.
AT&F provides custom and high-volume steel fabrication to industries throughout the world via specialized facilities and locations. AT&F is an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturer with 800,000 square feet of manufacturing space at locations around the globe, including Cleveland, Ohio; Massillon, Ohio; Orrville, Ohio; Charleston, S.C.; Arhus, Denmark; and Chakan and Mumbai, India.
