Steel Distributor Expands Processing Capabilities
07/11/2017 - Stainless and specialty alloy distributor United Performance Metals has installed a new edging line at its Hamilton, Ohio, USA, headquarters and has added edging and slitting capabilities to its La Mirada, Calif., facility, the company has announced.
According to United Performance, the new Ohio line displaced existing edging and 12-inch slitting equipment, which was disassembled and re-installed in La Mirada.
“The additional edging capability in our West Coast facility complements the current slitting operations in that branch. Having edging capacity in multiple locations allows us to offer our customers shorter lead times and faster delivery, regardless of our customer’s geographic location,” said United Performance director of operations JJ Johnson.
