Steel Company Revives Scottish Plate Mills
09/28/2016 - Liberty Steel has recommissioned two affiliated plate mills in Scotland and is looking to eventually increase production to 500,000 metric tons annually, according to the Reuters news service.
The Dalzell and Clydebridge mills had belonged to Tata Steel, which idled them last year as part of a larger cost-cutting effort. The mills were later acquired by industrialist Sanjeev Gupta.
