Stainless Re-Rolling Mill Returns to Service
12/27/2017 - Danieli Service recently helped to restart an idled stainless re-rolling mill in the in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the company said in an announcement.
According to Danieli, the United Stainless Steel Co. facility had been idled since 2011, but was restarted through an agreement between United Stainless and Chromiumtrade SA. Chromiumtrade is a Swiss company that will procure black coils, manage operations and market the end products.
"Danieli Service was engaged to restore the plant to full production, providing new spare parts, technical support, refurbishment and the upgrade of key equipment," the company said. "The upgrade covered the combined annealing and pickling line with in-line skinpass mill, the 20-high rolling mill, the coil grinding line, and the slitting and cut-to-length lines."
Improvements also were made to the automation system and to the annealing furnace, Danieli said.
