SSAB Teams Up With Office Furniture Maker
09/24/2024 - Framery, a manufacturer of soundproof office pods, has struck up a strategic collaboration with SSAB to integrate fossil-free steel into its production.
"We see this collaboration not as a choice but a necessity. From 2026, as soon as the material becomes available, we will start bringing fossil-free steel pods to offices worldwide," said Framery chief executive officer Samu Hällfors.
Framery this year switched from plywood to steel, which helped the company achieve a 23% material reduction in their new smart pods range and, on average, a 16% decrease in the related carbon footprint from manufacturing, it said.
The next leap, it said, will be to utilize SSAB’s fossil-free steel, beginning in 2026.
