SSAB Eyes Lifting Machine Market for New High-Strength Grade
04/11/2019 - SSAB has introduced a new grade of hot-rolled strip grade designed for applications that require welded joints, particularly lifting equipment.
Called Strenx 1100 Plus, the grade is an 1,100 MPa steel that can be welded at room temperature and offers advances in weld seam strength. The company said the combination of its strength and weldability makes it ideal for booms, frames and cranes.
“This new steel grade gives customers and end users lighter yet stronger equipment that can reach farther, increase payload and improve fuel economy,” the company said.
