SSAB Begins Layoff Negotiations
03/30/2020 - SSAB is preparing to initiate a round of temporary layoffs at its Finnish operations, citing weak demand due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement, the company said it will launch negotiations with SSAB Group’s personnel in Finland, excluding subsidiaries Ruukki Construction and Tibnor.
“The exact number of employees affected as well as the lengths of the temporary layoffs will be decided in the negotiations. Any temporary layoffs would begin in week 16 at the earliest,” the company said.
