SMS Siemag Receives Order from China
11/25/2009 - Hunan Xiangtou Goldsky Titanium Metal Co. Ltd. has placed an order with SMS Siemag for the supply of a 20-roll cold rolling mill for quality titanium strip. Annual production of 10,000 tonnes is expected.
Hunan Xiangtou Goldsky Titanium Metal Co. Ltd., China, has placed an order with SMS Siemag, Germany, for the supply of a 20-roll cold rolling mill for quality titanium strip.
The scope of supply comprises the mechanical equipment and media technology, as well as the supervision of erection and commissioning. The 20-roll cold rolling mill will be erected in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province.
The new Mono-Block stand in the MB 22B-52“ series will be used for rolling strips in the TA1, TA2, and TA3 range in widths up to 1300 mm.
The incoming gages reach a maximum of 4.0 mm, which then can be rolled down to final gages of 0.4 mm. The total drive power of the rolling mill is 4790 kW, which allows rolling speeds of up to 400 m/min. Annual production of 10,000 tonnes is expected.
Features of the plant include the Supafine filter system, which is adapted to the special requirements of the rolling of titanium. Manufacturing and preassembly of the 20-roll cold rolling mill will be carried out in SMS Siemag’s Hilchenbach shops.
