SMS Millcraft and SMS Meer Inc. Merge
03/17/2015 - Two SMS Group companies, SMS Millcraft LLC, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa., and SMS Meer Inc., headquartered in Cranberry Township, Pa., the U.S. subsidiary of SMS Meer GmbH, have merged to become SMS Technical Services LLC.
As a result of the merger, SMS Technical Services LLC is now the largest supplier of parts, equipment, modernizations, maintenance and field services for the metals industry in North America. The company has 18 locations and over 700 employees nationwide and provides maintenance services for furnace; flat and long product casting and rolling; coil galvanizing and processing; forging and extrusion; as well as tube and pipe mill equipment.
Effective 1 January 2015, Doug Dunworth was appointed president and CEO of SMS Technical Services. The company is headquartered in Cranberry Township, Pa.
